Chapter 12 - The Fountain and the Portal
The party travelled down the stairs in search of the doorway that led to the first level of Baator. They did so, travelling on the infinite staircase for 5 days before reaching the portal, which turned out to be a crawl way through a crack in some rocks, up to the surface of the first layer of Baator.
On their way to the portal they met a red headed rogue named Drael and her companion a half elven warrior. The joined the party, despite Thorlin's grumbling and Blaze's fiery attitude.
They travelled across the hellish terrain for a ways, avoiding sharp rocks, fireballs from the sky, fearsome visages in the rocks, and a army of fiends that passed nearby. They reached a rock archway near a fountain of lava. This was the portal they sought. After spending some time trying to destroy, but finding that any damage regenerated two-fold, they noticed a symbol being displayed by a form in the lava. They decided to return to the planewalkers guild to research the symbol.
Chapter 13 - Chasing Tie
Back at the planeswalker guild, they found that the symbol was that of a mage (Orwald Marchina) from the prime material, in fact, from Faerun, IN FACT, from the area around Baldur's Gate. The party used magic to return to the Waterdeep, and then began traveling south. On the way, they passed a somewhat panicked man on horseback. They ignored him. They continued on, and some suspicious looking people that smelled of brimstone were also passing, and asked the PC's if they'd seen a man matching the description of the panicked man (scar on face, no eye brows).
The PC's said no, haven't seen him, and the men continued on. Blaze teleported back down the road and waited for the man. She saw him, and followed him for a while, until the other men caught up. Then the men turned into demons and tried to kill him, but Blaze appeared and teleported away with him, back to the party.
The man's name was Tie, and he turned out to be the apprentice of the mage that the PC's were seeking. They spoke with him a while and he told them where to find his masters tower. He explained about an explosion that killed his master.
